I found my 2nd-Great Aunt and Uncle, Robert b. 1866 & Helen Haynen b. 1870 and their children on the 1900 census in Two Habors, Lake Co. Then on the 1910 census I found my 2nd-Great Uncle as Widowed with their three children living in Sioux City, Iowa. The youngest and new daughter, Helen, is listed as born in Minnesota just like her siblings Myrtle and William. Does someone know a person that can do a lookup in Death or Cemetery Records for Two Harbors or where I can look? MY Thanks to everyone who gave me information on Sleepy Eye, MN and about how people chaned the spelling of their names. My Garndfather was Johan Carlsson in Sweden but changed his name to John Carlson when he came to this country. Annette Carlson Tucker.

My mother-in-law lived with her family, when she was a girl, in Sleepy Eye, (which is on US highway 14 and state highway 4), as well as several other places in Minnesota such as Pipestone, Benson, Montevideo, Granite Falls and Luverne. She was born in Freeport, Il to Tom and Anna Noble.

Sleepy Eye exists today. It is very possible about the name change, some of my fathers ancestors changed their last name from CIHLAR or CJIHLAR to CIHLA for that same reason. By the way my sister-in-law Vikki was a Carlson and does geneology. She has traced her Carlson roots back to royalty in Sweden. I have now found out the names of the funeral homes that were used for my Grandmother who died May 25th,1902. It was the Minneapolis Undertaker but this is no longer in business so can anyone tell me where to go from here to get anymore information? My Aunt Eva Carlson died on February 12,1912 and they are both buried in Hillside Cemetary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I forgot to say that the J.H.Johnson Funeral Home was used for my Aunt Eve but it to is out of business. Any information will be appreciated. A.C.T.
