    3. What are you looking for on her? Birth info? Marriage info? Death info? Try searching for her on the free online 1880 census: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp If you put in LATHAM for the last name and search for girls born in MN in 1870 +/- 5 years, there are only six hits. Most of them are in one family and that family is located in Excelsior, Hennepin, Minnesota. Two other families of LATHAM with girls that age are in Waseca, Waseca, Minnesota and St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota . I found the gentleman (kid) in the 1880 census in a household where there are numbers after each name in chronological order, to 4. At the end of the enumeration, there are Notes. Under the caption, it says, 1 HCP ENTRY, 2 HCP ENTRY, 3 HCP ENTRY, 4 HCP ENTRY. What the heck is an HCP Entry?????????? Cathie

    3. The Minnesota Genealogical Society has a project going to get cemetery lists together for all the counties. You might want to contact them and find out who the volunteers are for Washington and Dakota counties. Needless to say, the cemeteries are under a fair bit of snow right now, so anything that hasn't been walked through and recorded yet will have to wait until next spring. http://www.mngs.org/ Kathy Patman7730219468@cs.com wrote: > Hi List Members, can anyone tell me if there are lists of all the people > buried in the following cemetery`s 1.Atkinson Cemetery, Washington County, MN > 2.Newport Cemetery, Washington County, MN 3.Saint Patrick Cemetery, Dakota > County, MN 4.Union Cemetery, Dakota, MN Thanks for any information > Patrick > > ==== MINNESOTA Mailing List ==== > "It is not the length of life, but depth of life." - Ralph Waldo Emerson > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237

    3. To try and find living relatives, this works especially well for folks with unusual last names, I use the online phone books a lot. I like both http://www.qwestdex.com and http://www.anywho.com. On http://www.qwestdex.com I see only two ROSINGs listed in the Minneapolis area. Try calling or writing them to see if they had any PENLEY cousins. 3. Using Kathy's data on the death of a Robert E PENLEY in 1995 showing he was b in 1912 and his mother's maiden name was ROSING, I found several ROSING's in MN in the 1920 Census, including 3 in Hennepin Co, MN where, in 1930, I found a Robert PENLEY 17 enumerated with Leon PENLEY 56, Alma 46, and Dean 28 in Golden Valley, Hennepin Co, MN. According to the MN death records: Leon E PENLEY d 1951 Alma Charlotte PENLEY d 1975, mother's maiden name was JONES Who is Mahala PENLEY who d in 1927 ? Is she part of this family ? Cannot find the family of Leon, Alma, Dean and Robert PENLEY in the 1920 Census anywhere, or any of them as an individual anywhere in 1920. Leon should be a descendant of the PENLEY family of ME, some of whom went to MA, and then a brother or nephew of a Romellia PENLEY PEARY (b abt 1836 ME who lived in MA as an adult, had a dau Josephine PEARY PHILLIPS) is supposed to have removed to MN, with some in his family possibly living in Minneapolis at some point. Is Alma Robert's mother and if she were a ROSING, are there any ROSING's out there that can help me find any living members of the family of Leon PENLEY, his wife Alama, and 2 known sons: Dean and Robert ? The ROSING's that were enumerated in Hennepin Co, MN in 1920 are: ROSING, Clarence O 28 b MN ROSING, Earl A 39 b MN ROSING, Thekla 33 b MN Are the above Alma's relatives ? Other ROSING's in 1920 in MN were b in MI, IL, IA, and Norway. Grateful for any help. Janice
