Hi Melinda, I saw you post to the Freeborn Co. message boards looking for this family. Unfortunately Diane Oldfather, who married a Yost descendant herself, just passed away about a year ago. Diane loved doing genealogy and was a dedicated volunteer. Skip Murray checks the boards for both Freeborn and Faribault Counties periodically. If she has info, she'll respond. There's also a third person, Valerie, that researches Yost. I can try to dig up her contact info, if you want to get a hold of her. I think Valerie is trying to work on a book about those Yosts in Freeborn Co. I tend to follow the Yost threads a bit because my great great granduncle, August Hintz, married Louisa Yost and they were also in Freeborn Co. My Grandfather and his family are very hard to trace. I believe that my Grandfather (Joseph Frank Snitske) may have had sisters Anna (Schnitzka/Schmitzke) and Elisabeth (Schnitzka) who married a Yost and a Joseph Howe b. approx 1894 in Mn - respectively. Anna and Ben Louis Yost may have sired at least three children. One was Lucille Gertrude Yost born 1914 another Roy Benjamin Yost born approx 1916. Elizabeth and Joseph Howe may have sired at least 2 children. One was Frances Lillian Howe born approx 1909. I am wanting to find some living descendents of these two families in the hope that someone may have more info they can give me on the Snitska/Schnitzka family. Hi Margit, THIS will be my last word on the issue of vision for sure . . . your issues may not be the same as many . . . changing glasses does not remove the blood in your eyes, nor does it give you back central vision . . . reading glasses cannot improve all eye situations . . . making things larger and more dense does not always do it either . . . but when it does it is a blessing!! Actually, because the text is automatically changed from HTML to Plain text, and from the 14 I'm typing in to something so miniscule that I cannot see it either - THAT is what forces one to use caps when composing . . . I have to make that conversion back to HTML before I can read any of these notes . . . those of you complaining might offer a prayer of thanks for your good eyesight . . . it is truly a gift!! Sandy . . . I am so sorry that you have vision issues . . . when mine was at its worst that is when I need this hobby the very most . . . and even now it isn't great, but I have found that using very dense letters helps me far more at this point than using capital letters. You might like to try that . . .
