Forwarded to List from List Manager: Subj: {not a subscriber} Govro Date: 7/7/02 3:26:03 PM Central Daylight Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected], [email protected] I'm trying to find out more about my great-great-grandfather, John Govro, shown on the 1850 census in Cuba Township, Lake County, IL. One of his sons, Henry, is shown on the 1880 Census in Westport Township, Pope County, Minnesota, at age 45. This age computes with the age for Henry on the 1850 Census. I believe that Henry is my great-grandfather's (Jerome) older brother, and am hoping that someone out there is familiar with Henry's line and can shed some light on Henry's parents. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gary Govro Crystal, MN

That might be a tough one unless the list comes up with someone who has actually seen it. If the list does not, here are my thoughts. Since it lists many states, it might be a federal monument, so perhaps one idea would be to s-mail the National Park Service. Possibly join lists for all 50 states (a few at a time) & post there. Since the figures at the top don't appear to be in uniform, & I don't see any rifles, cannon, or anchors, it probably is not a war monument. So it might be a monument to pioneers, or to industrial development. Good Morning! A 2nd cousin of mine and I have been forever searching for a gal named Rhoda who was a cousin to her father's mother and my father's grandmother. Old postcards retrieved from the attic of the farm that my father was raised on, saying "To My Dear Cousin" but addressed to my father's mother and were just signed RHODA, postmarked Minneapolis, MN between 1908 and 1909. The cousin still has an aunt living (daughter of the cousin apparently to RHODA) who, when asked who RHODA is, just says that "she was a cousin to mother". but the aunt does not know how RHODA was related or what her maiden name was. She only remembered that this RHODA was Mrs. August E. Paulson. By the time my cousin's aunt would have been old enough to realize there would've been a relative named RHODA, Rhoda would've been Mrs. August E. Paulson and understandable why this aunt wouldn't have questioned through who RHODA was related to her mother...just that she was. I believe Rhoda was born 12/30/1894 and died Jan. 1985 in Hennepin Co., Minneapolis. August was born 1/8/1892 and died 1/15/1975 in Hennepin Co., Minneapolis. Since the postcards from RHODA came from Minneapolis, I believe that she met and married August E. Paulson in the metro area also. If someone has access to marriage records that would include the years 1914-1920 giving the maiden name of the bride of August E. Paulson whose wife's name was RHODA, I would surely appreciate that information. Please help? Cathie
I looking for info on my grandmother, Katherine Chalupa (1897-1930), spouse Fred Havel. Lived in Montgomery, MN area. All I have are these dates. She was grandpa Fred's second wife.
Hello Listers, RootsWeb is in the process of upgrading their servers to new hardware and you may expect some outages in the next few days. They ask for patience. During the time that the server is down mail will not be sent. They ask that during this time that we not send a flood of messages asking why no mail etc. This will just clog up the return to the line. Thanks for your cooperation, Scarlett G.
