    3. It had to be before 1962 and somewhere after 1956. My mom is the source that saw them burying the child and she said she wasn't married to mmy dad yet. They married in April 1961. Wanda Wanda, Do you have a time frame on any of this? Any idea where in Wisconsin the 'second' child went? ~MeLani ----- Original Message ----- > I finally stumbled on some information on my family that seems to be a big secret. One of these children died at or near birth and never left the hospital according my source. They were born in Goodhue County (supposedly in Red Wing) and one died there. The other one didn't live long (less than a year) but went home to live somewhere in Wisconsin. This child died in Wisconsin. I am not sure of the sex of these children, nor the last names of these children - I am guessing it as Anderson due to the generation they were born in. There was a law suit as well. They tried to get child support from my uncle for the surviving child after it's death. My mother happened to go by a cemetery and see them burying this child and this information was told in the court. > > I would be interested in the law suit papers as well. 1. [MINNESOTA] Fwd: Snag with MN Historical Society
    2. Forwarded to List by List Administer... Subj: Snag with MN Historical Society Date: 11/03/2002 9:44:29 AM Central Standard Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Please allow me to introduce myself: My name is Dennis, and I am on a search for my family's history. My father was an indentured servant in MN as a child. He was given to a farm family in 1927 at the age of three. The family that raised him was party to a contract with the state of MN. The contract required the family to provide food, clothing, and shelter to my father, and to send him to school long enough for him to learn to read and to write. The contract required my father to do what work was assigned him till age eighteen, at which time he would be free of the contract of servitude. One of my sisters researched this about twenty years ago, and came up with this info (she showed me a copy of the contract briefly). My sister has refused to share the info she found with her siblings, but at least I know it exists. I think I have found a place that has the info that I am seeking. The MN Historical Society has told me that they have info on over 10,000 of these indentured servants. But, they are refusing to do a search for me till I come up with a death certificate for my father. My father is not dead, he is still with us. I questioned the Hist. Soc. about this, and was told "It's for privacy." They did not explain further. Question: is the MN Hist. Soc. required by statute to keep this "indentured servitude" info closed, or is it just a matter of policy and procedure? Thanks much, Dennis

    3. Does anyone know if anyone is going to the MHS library to do photocopying of uncertified death records? I seem to recall someone had volunteered to make copies for less than the $8 they charge. So far, I have 13 relatives I'd like to get the certificates for, but can't afford $100 to do it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kari

    1. [MINNESOTA] IF YOUR ANCESTORS ARE FROM "AUSTRIA" or "GERMANY", READ THIS!!!
    2. Jesse R. Clarke
    3. Greetings!! My name is Jesse Clarke. I have been researching my ancestors for 5+ years, many of which lived in Cottonwood & Jackson Counties. We knew my g-g-grandfather came from a town in "Austria" known as Molletein or Molleteen. After much trial and error, and some luck, I found the exact town. In the summer of 1999, I got a message from a lady who had a copy of a book about the town of Moletein. This town was in the present-day Czech Republic. German name = Alt-Moletein Czech name = Stary Maletin / Maletin In this book there are the surnames of MANY MANY MANY people who I have seen while researching in both Cottonwood & Jackson Counties, as well as other counties in Minnesota! You may download a copy of this book at http://www.jrclarke.com/schad/moleteinbook.shtml PROVIDED YOU E-MAIL ME SAYING YOU DID! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DOWNLOADING IT (JUST FOR FUN & KNOWLEDGE)!! ENJOY!! researching: SCHAD, JARMER, MONTAG, SCHAFFER, NIMMERFROH, GIESSELMAN, FRITSCHER..... among others Jesse Clarke [email protected] http://www.jrclarke.com

Hulda b.12-1885, Hannah b. 2-1887, Ivor b. 1-1889, Elmer b. 1890, Mary b. 5-1892, Emily(Emilie)b. 6-1894, Clara b. 3-1896, David b. 12-1897, Esther b. 2-1-1900, Ruth b. 4-12-1902. I have information on some of the family. The ones I do not have anything on are Ivor, Mary, Emily, David and Ruth. Emily, Mary and Ivor were in Crookston in 1910 according to the census. Mary I found in Fargo and Moorhead area in 1916 but nothing after that. After 1910 I could not find anything of Emily or Ivor. I have been told Emily married and also Ruth who was taken by a member of the family married an Italian barber. David Wick was adopted by a North Dakota Couple. Hulda Wick died in Ulen, MN but I can not find an OB or where she was buried. If anyone has any information I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks Coleen

    2. Terry & Teri
    3. I have a relative that died in October of 1886 according to church records. His tombstone says 1888, but it is the same headstone that also has his parents, one that died in 1903 and the other, 1905. Anyway, his death record is neither in Isanti or Chisago whichh are the logical places. I'm thinking maybe he was in the hospital or maybe he was working on a farm away from home when he died. I can't afford to send to all the surrounding counties to see if they have a death certificate. If some kind person can check the various counties surrounding Isanti and Chisago, maybe as far as the twin cities, I would be more than happy to pay for the certificate once it's found. Once we find the date of death, I wll get the obit. I am looking for John RUDSTRÖM, born in 1860 in Sweden and died, October 1886. Thank you so much!! If I can trade, I live in Grand Junction, CO.
