She was Maria Christina Nilsdotter (Maja Stina) and her husband was Jonas Carlsson. There is no way ok knowing which surname she used in the US. She traveled to the Us with her two youngest children, Nils Adolph Johanssen and Fredrika Wilhelmina Jonasdotter. Fredrika married in St. joseph, Berrien Co in 1877, and her first child was born in Muskegon also in 1877. I am hoping to find Maja Stina someplace in Michigan.
