KATHERINE LOUISE (Widow of Robert, Sr.) Muskegon Mrs. Katherine Louise Coon, age 78, passed away Tuesday evening, February 3, 2009 at her home. She was born September 29, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Stewart and Helen (Woodward) Malcom. On May 30, 1953, she married Robert D. Coon, Sr. in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2000. Katherine was an avid Civil War Buff who had collected DVD's and memorabilia related to the war. She enjoyed classical music, traveling on tour bus trips and shopping at Farmer's Markets. Katherine was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a life member and past president of the women's auxiliary at VFW #8846 Don Rea Post. She enjoyed many visits with her children and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Rebecca J. Baker of Muskegon, Robert D. (Debra) Coon of Evansville, IN, Constance J. (Louis) Gonser of Twin Lake, MI, Florence E. (Donald) Mitcheltree of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren and 12 1/2 great gra! ndchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Roberta A. Cole, her parents and 1 brother, Fred Malcom. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2009 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 INTERMENT will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery.
