Evans. Born around 1844 in Canada as Mary Bain, she married Ignatius G. Evans around 1874. Mary Evans appears on the 1900 census in Whitehall, 1910 in Blue Lake, and 1920 in Whitehall living with her daughter, Anna Reed. Ignatius died in 1914 and is believed to be buried in Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall. There is a "Mrs. Evans" also buried there which might be her. Mary Evans had at least two brothers who immigrated from Canada to the US who lived in Emmet County. They are Benjamin Bain who died in 1921 and Joseph G. Bain who died in 1925. I am seeking more information about her to trace her family in Canada. Does anyone know where obituaries from the 1920s can be found for Muskegon County Michigan?
