Mr. Bunce was born November 14, 1924 in Kalamazoo, to Winfield "Scott" and Cora (Tuttle) Bunce. Following graduation from Kalamazoo Public Schools, he served in the United States Air Force during WW II. Art established and managed several Noble Shoe Stores in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. He lived the last 44 years in North Muskegon, where he retired from "The Square" men's clothing store. Art was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of North Muskegon. For several years, he volunteered at the Red Cross and the church food pantry. Art was a very generous man who enjoyed giving and making others feel special and occasionally walking their dogs. Surviving are his sister, Madelene Reynolds of Plainwell; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Viola Reid; four brothers, Scotty, L.D., Marion and Bill; and several close friends. Friends may meet the f! amily from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Winkel Funeral Home Otsego where services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, Pastor Dean Wheeler, officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan, with Military Honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or to the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 3/25/2008.
