The time period would be between June 1900 and the printing of the 1909 phone directory. Alice Purdy nee VanderVeere was married to Milton S. Purdy. He was a fisherman, and family tradition says that he died in a fishing accident and his body was never found. He left a wife Alice and son Harold. No one knows the approx. date of this accident.
