Bramble, Charles A. Enlisted in company F, Twenty-seventh Infantry, Sept. 21, 1862 at Grosse Pointe, for 3 years, age 21. Mustered Oct. 1, 1863. Joined Regiment at Louisville, Ky., Nov. 6, 1863. Discharged by S.O. No. 3, dated Jan 4, 1865. Early ca 1871, died 1912 (CR). Ch four, including E. Clifford b 1872 (MMR 4-208), and Charles A. (1910) Charles Bramble enlisted in Co. F, 27 MICHIGAN Infantry as private from Grosse Pointe on 21 Sept. 1862. He served 26 months before being discharged 4 Jan 1865 by Special Order #3 (R27:15, 1888 p346, 1890 p7) Bramble moved to Muskegon County in 1885, settling first at Black Lake, then Fruitport, before moving into Muskegon Heights in the early 1890's. He was granted an original pension 1 May 1900. (1894 p.12, 1910 Muskegon Heights, p1) Information donated by Bill Moore BRAMBLE, (Mrs. Charles A., Sr.) Emma (Early) Obituary Muskegon Chronicle, Muskegon, MI, Saturday, November 9, 1912, p. 5:3 Mrs. Charles A. Bramble, Sr. Mrs. Charles A. Bramble, sr. died at her home, corner of Fifth street and Columbus avenue, Muskegon Heights last night after a lingering illness. Mrs. Bramble was born in Prattsburg, N.Y. 60 years ago and then moved to Muskegon Heights seven years ago. Mrs. Bramble, whose maiden name was Miss Emma Early was married to Charles A. Bramble, sr at Potter, N.Y. in 1871. She was a member of the Heights M. E. church. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons; E. Clifford Bramble of Muskegon Heights, Charles A. Bramble jr of Detroit and Roy G. Bramble of Los Angeles, Calif. and one daughter, Mrs. Edward H. Highley, Lapeer, Mich., four brothers, Fred and Clarence Early of Geneva, NY and Claude Early of New York city and A. P. Early also survive her.
