Birth (limited), death, marriage and divorce records are available (for a price) online or by mail from the Michigan Department of Community Health. Also, too, www.seekingmichigan.org is scanning death certificates 1897-1920 - I looked for John D Moore, did not find him there yet. Also, also, www.familysearch.org has a records pilot site. You will find John D. Moore, but only the transcribed recap, not the actual death certificate. But----there are at least two companion resources to the Civil War Veterans - those would be the copies of Casnovia Death Certificates (starting with 1904, as I recall) and the Casnovia Cemeteries book by Sharon Miller and Darlene Poulin. One more - GENDIS - has brief recaps of some early death records in Michigan - search GOOGLE. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
