I moved to Acorn Street in January 1951. Acorn was in Muskegon, but when you crossed into Muskegon Heights the name changed to Hoyt St. John Street was a block west of Acorn, and it changed to Leahy when you crossed into the Heights. I believe it was just a short time later that the streets became Hoyt and Leahy for their whole length, to lessen the confusion of changing names. I also believe that two other streets changed to the Muskegon name for their whole length, but I don't remember the names. I hope this clears up at least some of the confusion. Ann Mitchell West Bend, Wisconsin > Does anyone know about a John St changing to Leahy St. in Muskegon and Muskegon Hts.? Also, was Holt St changed to Acorn St, or the other way around? It seems that these changes occurred in the 20's and/or 40's. Thank you so much. > > > ==== MIMUSKEG Mailing List ==== > Check out the Muskegon County Genealogy Resource Center online at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~muskegoncounty/Index.htm > > > > _____________________________________________________ > This message scanned for viruses by CoreComm > -- CoreComm Webmail. http://home.core.com
