It remains a mystery to me why he was never mentioned. He (Ralph Moore) was the oldest child of Milford and Sadie. He lived in Ironwood, married my great grandma from Iron Belt- near Saxon and I think they lived in that area until the divorce. He came up to the UP for a few funerals and that's how we met him when I was just a kid. Would your mom know about his existence? I heard that his parents were part Cherokee Indian and that Sadie's parents were Luther and ?Emerine Mc Bride? Not sure on that name, but supposedly, that was where the Cherokee comes into our blood. One of our distant relatives was James Arcelius York, who was killed duirng the Civil War in the Battle of the Wilderness. It is said that we are descendants from the House of York and also from Simon De Sandis. Some of our ancestors actually fled to Rhode Island to escape the Puritan persecution. I find all of this fascinating, of course, I am a history teacher and kind of thrive on this type of stuff. I live in the Upper Peninsula (Hancock) with my husband Jason. We are expecting our first child soon. I will be seeing my relatives tomorrow evening, so I will bring this up . Have a Great New Years1 Michele
