The MI Death Index, 1867-1897, shows that Alice MALLOCH, d/o Chas and Elizabeth MALLOCH, drowned 9 Aug 1876. Alice was 9 years old. The circumstances, plus her young age, might have been a good reason for an accidental death report to be printed in a Muskegon newspaper. How many newspapers served Muskegon in 1876 and have they been indexed for vital statistics? In the hope that it might contain more than just the name and date, can Alice's death/obit be found? Also the Evergreen cemetery records, Muskegon, show that Alice and her mother Sarah E. Malloch shared a plot. Sarah E. Malloch's date of death in the cemetery's records was 24 Nov 1912. Can her obit be found? I want to publicly say a big thank you to those on this list who have responded to my earlier queries re C. F. Malloch's family. Your generosity is amazing. I am also impressed with the number of resources that are on-line in MI. Norma Nepean, ON
