Hope this helps. There are several others on this list that are also descendants and hopefully they will add to this information. Hi there! This is Donelly Mahoney, now Worthington, descended from Daniel Mahon(e)y and Jane Turns. What I have of Daniel Mahoney is from census details. He was born in Ireland in 1847 (we think in County Cork) and I don't know when he came to America, but he was married to Jane in 1870 and living in Michigan, (Whitehall, Muskegon County). First son, James, was born in 1870. There were 11 children born to them. Jane is a widow in the 1900 census and I have not found Daniel's death or burial place. She is buried in The Mouth Cemetery. My great-grandfather, Patrick Francis Mahoney, was born in 1886 (for some reason still unknown, he was born in Minnesota, all other siblings were born in Michigan). He married Hilda Wilhelmina Johnson in 1907. My grandfather, Patrick Stanford Mahoney, was born in 1909 and he married Gertrude Dorothy Meyer in 1930. It's great to talk to some cousins out there! Really, really want to find some info on the Mahoney line back to Ireland. Keep in touch! I'm a little limited right now as I have twin four-year old girls and am a stay at home. I'd welcome any suggestions, ideas or help out there. Note: In the 1870 census, I found the MAHONEY family listed under "MAHOON," and the TURNS listed as "FURNS." Phyllis, do you have info on Jane Turns' birth, I can't find her anywhere when I search. Thanks, Donelly in Scappoose, Oregon
Donnelly: All I have is 1851 and I presume (no actual proof) in North Shields, Durham Co. England. That's where they Turns family came from. The Robinson family was in South Shields, Northumberland Co. England. Just a bay seperated the two towns. It confused me for many hears. I have no dates whatsoever for Daniel Mahoney.
