Surnames: vanderheide,mccarthy,moore Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WGB.2ACI/1624 Message Board Post: John Vanderheide was living with my grandmother Augusta (Moore) McCarthy in the 1930 census in Woodbridge New Jersey. Augusta was not divorced from my grandfather at the time and listed her name as "Vanderheide". My Aunt Ethel (b;1926) who was 3 and 10/12's at the time was also a "McCarthy". I can not track them past that date and would appreciate any help. Ethel had a brother born in 1932 whose name is Harry McCarthy (b;1932). Both of these children had been placed in the foster care system in New Jersey under the last name "McCarthy" and the last known area was Union County, this was due to my grandmothers lack of ability to care for them due to alcohol. I would really like to know what became of John as well as Ethel and Harry, for acording to the DYFS (Department of Youth and Family Services in New Jersey ) the children had referred to John as Dad. They may never have known their real father William Paul McCarthy. John was born in 1902 or there abouts. If anyone could ! assist me in this search it would be much appreciated. This search has been going on in excess of 10 years, and this past summer Ethel and Harrys oldest brother, my father William H. McCarthy had passed away, never getting to meet his youngest siblings.
