Garner served as a Private in Company C, 1st (Turney's) Tennessee Infantry. He was wounded at Gettysburg. He served from 1861 until captured at Hatchers Run, VA on April 2, 1865 and arrived at Point Lookout, Md. on April 4, 1865. He took the oath of allegiance on June 27, 1865 and was given transportation to Washington D. C., on or about June 28, 1865 he was given transportation to Winchester, TN. He was married to my GGgrandmother Angeline Prince Kelley, Widow of William Kelley. He apparently never arrived in Winchester. Angeline Prince Kelley Garner married John Sutton on August 10, 1865. I would appreciate any information on this brave Confederate soldier.
