The 1910 census for Muskegon Heights shows them living with Charles Sr and Emma and the parents of children Oakley R , Kenneth H and Clinton J, death records for two additional children show an infant boy 1911-1911, infant girl 1913-1913 and the 1920 census finds another child Phyllis Ethel who was born 1916 who was adopted by her aunt and uncle Edward & Rose Emma Bramble Higley. I would definitely be interested in the other members of the Mitchell family plot to confirm heritage. I would also be interested in the process for applying for a stone for Charles Sr. Can you advise? Have attached a copy. She is buried on the Mitchell family plot. If you want more info, let me know. Also, are you going to apply for a civil war tombstone for Charles? If not, I am going to work with the local VFW to get one. I walked the cemetery & took photos of 2,450 tombstone and there are many veterans without stones. A very good place to find information on people is Familysearch.org. go to family search, scroll down below 'Search' to see prototype. I have found a lot of information there on my Muskegan family. I tried Bassett and there is a lot of information on your people. Barb smith

I'd like to clarify... If you look for my posting July 31, 2008, I made a correction on the birthdate for MY great great grandfather. The correct BD for MY Alexander Coutts is 11/25/1861. My great great grandfather is the same one that married Hilda (sp). She died in childbirth. He then married MY great great grandmother, Anne Elizabeth Sutton/Sitton. He ended up in Tacoma and had a brother Charles S., who I believe ended up in Spokane, WA. Once again, I do apologize for any confusion I have caused. I did follow the other Alexander for quite awhile and DID determine they are NOT the same. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Their siblings were John, James, Margaret, George, John(2), and Elizabeth. You can also find them in the 1900 and 1910 census'. They're are lots of Alexander and Charles Coutts' and it took me a very long time to sort them all out to our family. I know it is very frustrating. Good luck!
