Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WGB.2ACI/1580 Message Board Post: HAR is introducing a brand new CD product: 1868 Atlas of the State of Ohio. The 68 page atlas has been scanned at 400 dpi and presented in high quality Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). The viewing software, Acrobat Reader, is included on each CD. This is a departure from our indiana and Illinois Atlas CD's in that it is more like an e-book than a series of 19th century county maps. There is quite a bit of statistical data and text in this product including sections on: Agriculture, Canals, Climate Map, Climatology, Colleges, County Evolution, Land Grants of Ohio, Geological Map, Geology, History, Schools and Seminaries, Post Offices, Railways, Statistics and Surveys of Ohio. The Atlas contains multiple adjacent county maps that are useful for identifying 1868 transportation routes, railroads, canals and many early Ohio place names. The 25 city maps in the Atlas are much more detailed with many early government and industrial sites including: a variety of mills, cemeteries, churches, schools, asylums, fair grounds, race tracks, business locations, etc. This is an informative snapshot of mid 19th century Ohio and is recommended for anyone interested in undertaking historical or genealogical research of this period. A complete Table of Contents and examples taken from the Atlas can be viewed at the following link: 1868 Ohio Atlas web page: http://www.har-indy.com/oh_map/oh_index.html 1876 Indiana county maps: http://www.har-indy.com/in_map/in_index.html 1876 Illinois county maps: http://www.har-indy.com/il_map/il_index.html All are also available at our eBay store: http://www.stores.ebay.com/historicatlasseriesbyhar?refid=store Thanks for looking. Morn-in Terri I know now that your Great Grandpa Conrad Senkow and Great Grandma Helen Unovich came to the U.S.A. in 1911. Conrad and Helen are your Grandma Anna CONRAD / YORE / KALEY"s ma and dad. Hope your Grandma Anna can tell us what boat and Port they came out of and where they landed in the U.S.A.. I know that Conrad was born in Russia in about 1866 and that he died in about 1960 in Muskegon, Michigan. Would like real dates. Where he was born in Russia? What his dad and ma's name was. I know now that his dad was born in Germany but that is all I know right now. Would like all the same type of info on your grandma Anna's mama Helen. I know that Helen was born in Russia about 1882 and that her ma and dad were born in Russia also. Would like to know where Conrad and Helen lived when they were across the pond. This all would help me find their bunch across the pond. When did Conrad and Helen pass away and where are they buried? What were their movements out of West Virginia. I am not sure but think at this time that they may have been in Ohio, Illinois along with Michigan. I know her sister Virginia was married in Illinois to Fancis Leroy Kaley in about 1947 Where was your grandma Anna born? Your dad said she was born in Virginia but I have found where Conrad and Helen said in 1930 that she and her bother John were born in Ohio, sister Virginia and brother Walter where born in Virginia. Camaron Virginia where they were in 1930 is only about 10 to 15 miles from Ohio so they may have moved over and back. Get Me any thing you can on her sister and brother's and their families. I have things I have found on them but would like back up info. Find if Walter may have been call Waldo also. Find out any thing Anna can tell us about Thomas Henry YORE your dad's dad Anna's 1st husband I have got a lot of info on the YORE side but would like backup I have very little on your ma's bunch. Get any thing on them you can. How is this for starters. :-P I would not think you will have much info befor noon :-) Happy hunt-un Tell your dad that you got from good info that his name started out as YARRSKI some where near Poland and that he is maybe related to Bill Standisloadshi. Spelling ???? He will understand JIM M Our E-Mail is [email protected]

Surnames: Morin (Moran), Jean Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WGB.2ACI/961.1.1.1 Message Board Post: The only facts that I can document about him is that he was born about 1852 in Canada. In 1881 he married Clara Jean in Chicago. in 1882 he was in Ludington where his son James was born. In 1884 he was in Manistee where Joseph Albert was born. In 1890 the family was back in Chicago where their daughter Maria Rosalia was born. There were some other children but I haven't found them yet. In 1895, Joseph and Clara divorced and shortly thereafter their children Joseph, (Maria) Rose and Emma were sent to the state school in Coldwater. The 1870 census lists a family headed by Joseph Morrin in Stronach. I believe the son Joseph is my relative but cannot yet prove it. My father thinks that his grandfather died in Muskegon in the 1930's. I am sending for a death certificate for Joseph P. Moran (another spelling of our name) who died in 1930 and hope that I will find a connection to him.
Hi. I posted this to the list about a week ago, but didn't get a response, so thought I'd try it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for birth announcements for two girls by Brenda Heaton (Burrous) and Daniel Burrous. The girls were born in Muskegon on February 15, 1978 and December 16, 1976. If anyone is going to Hackley Library soon and could look these up, I would appreciate a copy of the birth announcements and will pay for the copies and postage. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Tonia Baird 11190 Riley Road Interlochen, MI 49643 [email protected]

I have this map in my collection. It is great for framing and reference. It shows several towns in Muskegon that really don't exist anymore such as "Berry Junction" and "Almer". Almer was a stage coach stop on the way from Grand Rapids and Muskegon. It was located on Evanston Rd. in the Egelston Township area.
