I had it some where that his step mother was a Letcher. Does anyone know about this? Letcher is my mother's line and that would make me a double cousin how ever far down the line. Jesse JAMES was outlived by his biological mother, so I don't see how he could have had a step-mother. Jesse died in 1882, and his biological mother, Zerelda (COLE) JAMES, died in 1911.
