Roy I think that you are confused about Drury Sr. and Drury Jr. Drury Sr. died in Edgefield, SC in Nov. 1818 and is buried there. I have a picture of his tombstone taken by Betty Blivens in June 2000. Drury Jr. died in Eufala, Russell County, Alabama on June 18, 1858 and is buried at Linwood Cemetary in Columbus, Georgia, as was his wife Charlsey. I have pictures of their tombstones that I took in 1997. I have a copy of his obituary which was printed in the Edgefield Advertiser on June 30, 1858. It says: "Died, at Eufala, Ala on the 18th inst, Mr. Drury Mims, aged 75 years. He removed from this vicinity, near 30 years ago, to Columbus, Ga., where he maintained to the day of his death a good christian character. Peace to his ashes." I have another obit from the Christian Index: Drury Mims, Jr. Obituary Departed this life, in the city of Eufaula, Alabama, on the 18th inst. Deacon Drury Mims, aged 75 years, 5 months and 2 days. Father Mims was born Edgefield District SC Jan 10 1783. In 1830 he moved to Muscogee Co, Georgia and to Russell Co, Ala in 1837, where he lived until Jan 1855. Having been bereft of his companion in the fall of 1854, he sold his property, and dividing most of the proceeds thereof among his children, he selected the house of Thomas A. Brannon, of Cusseta, Georgia, who married his 2nd daughter, as his home. In Sept last, the Brannons moved to Eufaula and he soon followed. He carried a letter recommending him as a member and deacon in the Church. He was baptized into the church Aug 1809. He died of “Old Mans Apoplexy”. He had been to Columbus, Georgia on a visit to friends. On the 18th he came down river on a boat enjoying his usual health. He landed at our wharf about dark, and finding no conveyance (we had made a few trips already) he attempted to go home, up a steep bluff He reached a friend’s home and they sent him home in their buggy. He seemed to be all right, but later started vomiting, he became irrational and died about 2-3 hours after reaching home. Several years before he had selected the place where he wished to be buried, the minister to preach, and the text. Columbus was the place selected. /Christian Index/Eufaula/June 24,1858 e 24,1858 Hope that this is helpful info. Pat
