Mr. E. Mims and Louise Dobbs are the parents of Ida P. Mims, b. Tuscaloosa, AL 1880 - 1957, according to her death certificate. She was married to a man surnamed Lewis who died before 1930. Her second husband was William Walter Popwell 1874 -. Their children were: Loyal Etta Popwell 1898 - 1990 (married Arthur Edwin Perkins 1879 - 1964), Edward Luther Popwell 1900 - 1904, Maria Popwell 1911 -, Clarence Popwell 1913 -, Lena Popwell 1916 -, Annie Popwell 1918 -, Marion Popwell 1920 -, and Evelyn Popwell 1924 -. Can anyone tell me more about Ida or her parents? A Louise C. Dobbs, age 7 from OH and age 17 from LA are listed in the 1860 and 1870 censuses respectively. In both cases, she and her sister, Sallie A. Dobbs are living in Mobile, AL with Rev. J. Albert Massey and his wife, Susan J., who may have been their mother.
