    1. Re: [MIMS,MIMMS,MIMBS] Benjamin Mims and wife Judith
    2. Ann, I am a Woodson descendant through another ancestor. Not only Judith's connection to the Mims family, but much of the Woodson genealogy beginning with John Woodson and his wife, Sarah Winston, has come into question. Undoubtedly there was a doctor John Woodson who was killed by Indians near Jamestown in 1644 - that seems to be documented in historical records of the time - but the story about the intrepid Sarah hiding their two little boys and braining Indians as they came down the chimney is being looked at closely. For one thing, if John and Sarah Woodson were the parents of Robert and John Woodson, whose births are documented as having occurred in 1632 and 1634, respectively, Sarah Woodson would have given birth to her only two children when she was 42 and 44, after many years of marriage - an unlikely occurrence in those times, when the expected life span wasn't much longer than that.
