    1. Edgefield, SC reunion
    2. Hi Everyone, During my trip to Edgefield in June my Dad an I met Mrs. Suzanne Mims Derrick, editor of The Edgefield Advertiser and a descendant of Drury Mims. She has graciously volunteered to help with a family reunion and offered to have her house (formerly Matthew Mims' s, son of Drury Mims, house) available for use. Mrs. Sally Norris, also a descendant of Drury Mims will try to get the Norris Family interested. The Tompkins Library President, Dr. Connie McNeill, has offered to open the library to us. A tour of the town site would be arranged. I was asked to help see if there may be an interest from those of us who are on the Mims list. There will probably be a fee involved to help cover some of the expenses. The fee would be based on how many people would be serious about attending. In the past efforts have failed but with local family help we could have a wonderful chance to gather information about our family as well as share info about our findings. There is a Bed and Breakfast in town, along with nearby RV/camping facilities. The recommended date is OCTOBER 23, 2004 which is a Saturday. Please e-mail me and I will collect the names and number of people planning to attend. I will create and forward a list to Mrs. Derrick and and gather more details of events planned and respond back to all who are interested. It really sounds like it will be fun so lets all try to attend. Jim Mims Houston, TX
