    1. Laurens, Wilkinson, Twiggs Counties, Georgia?
    2. Ted and Freda Noble
    3. Does anyone on this List research Laurens County, Georgia, families? My Robertson families were there. I also research the Moses Justice family that lived in Wilkinson County, Georgia, in 1824. Other closely related families were in Twiggs County, Georgia. I am wondering if most of these families who moved on to Butler, Wilcox and Monroe Counties, Alabama, were in Edgefield County and Laurens County, S. Carolina. Does anyone know of a book or document that discusses this migration? We are going to Laurens County, Georgia, in mid-September, and would like to have more info. Cheryl, were your Alabama families in any of these Georgia counties? Freda Harrison? Another family that was in Georgia before moving to Alabama: >Laurens County Georgia Legal Records Superior Court, 1833-1857 shows >a John T. Harrison, of Randolph County, Georgia, sold to Namom >Pickern of Laurens. For sales price of $100, land sold was 22nd >L.D. 1/2 of L. L. # not recollected but adjoining land of said >Pickern. 3. Hello MIms Cousins? We live close to Laurens county. My ancestors who were the descendants of Shadrack Mims who died in Lincoln Co ga in 1807 came to Twiggs and then some of them went on to Autauga(sp) Co Al. I have often wondered if some of the children went to Laurens as one of the sons of James Ware and Mary Mims Ware went to Laurens and these Mims were their cousins and uncles. I have not had time to research in Laurens COunty but if you are coming to this area, you need to go to the Washington Genealogy Library in Macon, GA and also the Ladson Genealogy Library in Vidalia GA. Vidalia is only two counties over from Laurens. Please feel free to email me prior to your visit and maybe we could meet for lunch. Macon is about 50 miles from Dublin which is the county seat of Laurens Co and Vidalia is about the same distance. You can go on I 16 from Dublin to Macon all the way, but you have to take an exit off I 16 to get to Vidalia. If you will email me privately, I will give you my phone number. thanks, betty in ga ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ted and Freda Noble" <tnoble@mcn.org> To: <MIMS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 02, 2004 6:26 PM Subject: [MIMS,MIMMS,MIMBS] Laurens, Wilkinson, Twiggs Counties, Georgia? > Does anyone on this List research Laurens County, Georgia, families? > My Robertson families were there. 2. Ralph Bailey
    3. The names you mention are not familiar, however, my Baileys were in Twiggs for the 1818 Tax Digest. Moved to Houston County by 1822, and Randolph County by 1834. May have been in Wilkinson which was carved out of Twiggs. My family is Philip Bailey b. 1760-1770, place unknown, wife unknown. Known children were Lovecey (spelled several ways) b. 1793 in NC, Bryan b. 1806 in Ga. married to Teresa Johnston b. 1808 in Ga., and John and Thomas b. 1800-1810. William Bailey who lived next to Philip and who is believed to be related to Philip may have moved to Wilkinson County as there is a William in the 1830 Wilkingson census. I also have a Mims line dating back to James D. b. 1808 in SC who was in Talbot County along with Henry Mims who apparently does not connect to my line. Migrated to Webster Parish, La. Anything familiar? 3. Hi Ralph, I am a descendant of David James Mims, b. 1813 Darlington District SC. He migrated to Webster Parish, LA in 1857, died near Minden, LA in 1885, buried in the Crow Cemetery. He was my Great Grandfather. He also had a brother, Henry M. Mims, b. 1816. I would appreciate any information you could share on this Mims line, if they are the ones you mentioned. Thanks Best Regards Randy Cole Tyler, TX rnccole@etgs.com
