A.D. MIMS, born June 2, 1920 in Lovelady, TX, passed from this life to be in heaven January 12, 2004. Mr. Mims was founder of Mims Dinner Bell and Mims Meat Co. He proudly served in the armed forces during WWII with his two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, G.E. "Bud" Mims and Ruby Mims and a brother, Riley Beuford Mims. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Vance Mims; daughter, Melissa Gayle Eccles; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Mary Mims; sister, Fadra Sharp; brother, Acie Mims; grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Bailey, Michael Dan Eccles, Amanda Gayle Mims and Arthur Dan Mims, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Jones, Morgan Brooke Eccles and Hannah Rose Eccles. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004 in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Curry, officiating.
