Which Thomas and Mary Wright? This is one of the mistakes everybody has. They have Thomas's (our Jesse's father) wife as Mary Wright. I have told them over and over this is wrong. That Thomas and Mary Wright lived in VA and never left. I have their line and it is not ours. Searchers have these two lines co-mingled. Our Thomas was mar. first to a James and then to Mary, who was much younger than him. Jesse and Richard were left the fishing rights that belonged to Thomas and probably Benjamin before him. The History book states he was given the right to the fishing rights of the river, and he left this to Jesse and Richard, because they were the youngest of Thomas and Mary's children and were still home. The son-on-laws were made the Executors because David, and Benjamin had relocated to Ga. Don't pick up anything on the Internet on these families. It is all wrong. The marriage date is the correct marriage date for Thomas and Mary Wright of Goochland. This Thomas was the son of John and Sarah Horn and I have this line traced, they had no Jesse. Their children (and I got direct from the Parish records with their birth dates etc. are David, Judith, Drury, Frankie, John Wright Mims, and absolutely no JESSE. In fact I have more information than anyone has ever dreamed of on all this complete family from Thomas and all the branches and all kind of little information I have found in record books and county history records, deeds, Estates, Wills etc. The Samuel Ely is not the son-in-law of Thomas and Mary Wright but is the son-in-law of our Thomas. He lived by Mary Mimbs in Richmond Co., on the 1800-1810 census, after all the boys except Richard had left home. I have never found Richard unless he moved 'West with one of the daughters and her husbands who went West. Richard was the youngest boy. He did not relocate to GA. Of that I am postive. When Mary died about 1832 I don't know where he went, but Samuel Ely family went West, so I believe Richard did also, or died. Don't contact anyone searching the Thomas and Mary Wright line, they will give you all kinds of wrong information and swear it is correct. Some researchers claim Richard as their line and have him born about 1740, so he will fit into their line. I've told them over and over, they have the wrong Richard. That is why I tell you there is so many mistakes on the Internet don't copy. Most of these people are just copiers and don't know what it means to try to prove something. I have Thomas and Benjamin's will. When you get back if you want a copy let me know. Marie
