Terry, I was Sam Mims neighbor in Minden, LA for 4 years. My copy of the Leaves came from Mr Sams hand, the only difference is that I did not double space the copy I sent to a few people. Thanks, John. I'm sending you directly a copy with differences marked. I've now finished comparing, and as I said before, other than some formatting issues, there are very few differences, mostly in some years. Plus, it would appear that either Kate, the source of her copy, or a subsequent editor didn't share Sam's regard for Jesse James -- a number of lines in that section are absent in the copy I have that originated with her. If you have access to an original copy, John, that would help resolve the few conflicts that cannot be cleared up otherwise.
