In response to a question posted by Glynda. This is the ancestry of Zeralda Amanda Mimms, from my own research. Compare it to your own line to see how it may connect. #1. Zeralda Amanda Mimms b. 7-21-1845 Woodford Co., KY. Daughter of: #2. John Wilson Mimms b. about 1808 Goochland Co VA. He came to Russellville, Logan Co KY as a youngster, with his parents. Son of: #3. Robert Mimms b. about 1768 Goochland Co, VA. He arrived in Russellville, Logan Co , KY as of 1813. So of: #4. Shadrach Mimms d. 11-17-1777 Goochland Co VA. Son of: #5. David Mims d. 1781 and Agnes Weldy. Son of: #6. Thomas Mims, Jr. the original immigrant. Zeralda Amanda Mimms married Jesse Woodson James, who was related to her own personal ancestry in several ways: #1. He was her cousin through her mother's James Family name. #2. He shared the same Woodson ancestry as she, thru the ancestry of Dr. John Woodson. That is on her Mimms side, her father's ancestry. There are some other ancestral ties, but that enough to mention now. The Mimms family of Russellville, Logan Co, KY is called the "Jesse James" Mimms family line, because of the marriage described above. However, please note that Zeralda was raised in Missouri, lived in Missouri, and died in Missouri. Even though she had cousins living in Russellville, Logan Co KY. she may have not ever met any of them personally, or ever socialised with them, only because of the very great distance between KY and MO in those days of awful roads, or non-existant roads. Zeralda Mimms, Mrs. Jesse James, was of Kentucky Roots, but her own upbringing was Missouri based, so she may have not felt personally that she was a "Kentucky" girl at heart. My grandfather Bill Mimms was second cousin to Zeralda Mimms, and his father was first cousn to Zeralda, and his father was the Uncle of Zeralda. But I don't believe that they had any close contact with her, or her immediate family, because she was too far away to be in close personal contact through visits, and family social get togethers.
