I was looking on the web today and found some confusing info. I originally thought Shadrach Mims, JR was the father of William McPherson Mims. Now I looked through quite a few ged com files that say this: William McPherson Mims was born in 1834 in Mississippi and married Kathleen De Jarnette. His parents are listed in all of the files as: David Mims (May 22, 1807 Georgia-?)(David's father as Shadrach Mims,SR) and Sophia Moles Addison (1810 Autuaga Co, AL-?). Now the info I had on William McPherson Mims was that he was born Feb 23, 1835 in Vernon, Autuaga,AL and died in 1898 and was married to Mary M. Dubose. This William's father I had listed as Shadrach Mims, JR.And I have their children listed as : Harrison Mims John Mims William E. Mims Robert L Mims Mary L. Mims Thomas Mims Lavinia Mims Peter J. Mims (m. April 28, 1870 in Charleston,SC)(m. Olivia C. Murray) Caroline Mims Richard Mims (b. 1844/ d.1916) (m.Eugenia Olivia Smith) Nathaniel Mims Joseph Mims Miles Edward Mims (d. 1923, SC?)(m. Lillian R. Ayers) Malory Mims Does anyone have any proof on this line? Were there 2 William McPherson Mims?? You know, there was a 3rd Shadrach Mims born in 1837 in Miss and married in 1868 to Mary J. Paxton. He was the son of Shadrach Mims, Jr. of course. So, SHadrach Mims, JR and David Mims as seen above were brothers. Is it possible they both had sons and named them William McPherson Mims? Hope somebody knows!
