William and Lucinda MIMBS had the following children: 1. David Jasper MIMBS was born in April 1868 in Florida. He was married to Mary DEVANE on November 23, 1893, in Polk County, FL. Mary DEVANE was born about 1877 in FL. They had one child, Edgar. Edgar MIMBS was born in January 1895 in Polk Co., FL. He died on May 31, 1918, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. Jasper was married to Laura BENNETT on August 31, 1899, in Bradenton, Manatee County, FL. Laura BENNETT was born in December 1868 in FL. She brought a child, Lulu, to the marriage from a previous marriage. Jasper adds a little spice to the Mimbs history. He was sentenced to life in prison (Raiford-FL State Farm in Union County) as an accomplice to murder with his son, Ed, in the murder of Allan Dallas Buey. Buey was killed on December 17, 1916, by Ed. Jasper was sentenced in Polk County, FL on May 28, 1918. His case was case # 406, and his attorney was Johnson McKay. The State Attorny was J. W. Burton. Jasper's FL Prison # was 13268. He died on August 29, 1927, in Raiford Prison, Union County, FL, and is buried at the prison. (3) See the appendix for news paper articles on the crime. 2. Charles M. MIMBS was born on November 25, 1872, in Polk County, FL. (4,5) He was married to Alice Eugunia GILL on February 1, 1892, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (6,4) Alice Eugunia GILL was born on June 19, 1873, in Madson County, FL. (4) This was Alice's second marriage. She was married to a Mr. Sater before she married Charles. Alice was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Gill and Mary Agnew. Alice died in August 1955 in FL. (6) Charles died on June 28, 1960, in Bradenton, Manatee County, FL. (5,6) He was buried in the Braden River Cemetery in Bradenton, Manatee County, FL. Charles M. MIMBS and Alice Eugunia GILL had the following children: i. Anna Viola MIMBS was born on February 10, 1893, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (4,6) She died on February 13, 1893, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (4,6) ii. Ella Mae MIMBS was born on April 28, 1895, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. She was married to H. Titus ROWELL in 1911 in Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. (4,6) iii. Sallie Luvina MIMBS was born on February 11, 1898, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (4,6) She was married to Patric MCCARTER in 1914 in Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. (4,6) iv. Allie Eugunia MIMBS was born on February 28, 1901, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. She was married to Charlie E. NICKS in 1917 in Plant City, FL. Allie died on March 11, 1937, in Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. (4,6) v. Ada Ococo MIMBS was born on January 21, 1904, in Lakeland, Polk County, FL. She was married to William F. "Bill" OVERTURF on May 28, 1921, in Bradenton, Manatee County, FL. (4,6) vi. Ida Leonia MIMBS was born on November 3, 1907, in Lakeland, Polk County, FL. She was married to James Alonzo "Lonie" BLOUNT on August 3, 1925, in Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. (4,6) James Alonzo "Lonie" BLOUNT died on September 2, 1948, in Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. Ida and Lonie raised a foster son, Boyce BOSTION. Ida died in Sarasota on November 30, 1993. vii. William M. MIMBS was born on March 9, 1910/11, in Polk County, FL. He was married to Edna STARLING on February 14, 1931, in Tampa, Hillsboro, FL. He died on December 2, 1982, in FL. (4, 6) viii. Fannie Missouri MIMBS was born on May 14, 1916, in Plant City, FL. She was married to George Ira SWEETING on March 21, 1931 in Panama, (FL?). She died on February 28, 1987. (4, 6) 3. Clara LEWIS. iii. Rosie LEWIS was born in 1903 in Polk County, FL. iv. Pete "J L" LEWIS. v. Eula LEWIS. vi. Badger "Tom" LEWIS. vii. Freddie LEWIS. viii. Elizabeth LEWIS. ix. Dorothy LEWIS. She was married to Joe DICKEY in Bradenton, Manatee County, FL. Mary Frances MIMBS and Joe DICKEY had no known children. She died in Lakeland, Polk County, FL. 4. George Washington MIMBS was born on November 24, 1880, in Homeland, Polk County, FL. (7) He was married to Mary Lillian JOHNSON on October 23, 1902, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (8) Mary Lillian JOHNSON was born on November 30, 1880, in Bartow, Polk County, FL. (9) She was the daughter of Duncan JOHNSON, Jr. and Mary Jane TAYLOR. Born three miles south of Bartow, George Washington Mimbs was a resident of Polk County all his life. A farmer and a cattleman, he was one of Lake Wales' first citizens. Mary Lillian died on August 4, 1944, in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. (9) She was buried on August 8, 1944, in Lake Wales Cemetery, Polk County, FL. George Washington died on April 12, 1968, in Lake Port, Glades, FL, while visiting his daughter. (7) He was buried in Lake Wales Cemetery, Polk County, FL. Minnie Viola MIMBS was born on December 19, 1909, in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. iv. Elbert MIMBS was born on August 28, 1912, in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. He died on September 5, 1972. v. Clarence Lilbert MIMBS was born on September 23, 1915, in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. vi. George Washington MIMBS Jr. was born in 1917 in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. He died in 1983 in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. He was buried in the Lake Wales Cemetery, Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. vii. Ola Vee MIMBS was born in Lake Wales, Polk County, FL. viii.
