    1. [MIMS,MIMMS,MIMBS] Mims Family Reunion
    2. How many on this list would want to have a family reunion in Edgefield, South Carolina in the month of May 2004? Some of us are trying to set one up if we can get enough to come. Roy Mims, San Diego, Ca.

    2. Ann Blomquist
    3. Hello, again, Mavis Mims sent me a question about Alfred J. Mims, so on further study, I think that Alfred J. Mims was the boy in the household of James C. Mims in 1850. This is a better fit that the one that I sent last time: 1850 Charleston Co SC p 402 James C. 3. I just opened the picture of Drury Mims Jr. I really appreciate seeing this. There is one thing that stands out. Don't laugh, it is the ears. Notice how they are kind of short and low on the head and stick out just a little? I have a picture of my grandfather, Oscar Mims, and a picture of someone I think is Oscar's father, John Mims. Richard Armstrong and I have compaired photos of Oscar and the one I think is John with his Linah Mims, who is John Mims brother. The ears are just alike, so are Drury Mims Jr.'s ears, as far as I can tell. I would be interested in seeing pictures of other Mims. Thanks again for sending the picture. Jan

    3. Ann-List Moderator. Is there any way that we can post a query to the list and have people put their names on it and reply to the list and get the people on the list who are descendants of Drury Mims Sr. d 181 8 in Edgefield SC and from which child of his they descend? I have tried to figure out a way so that it would be like a chain letter so that we would only have to archive one email to keep. That was a long rambling sentence. For example: Winnie Mims Ware-betty in ga Drury Mims Jr-- Marie in SC I would be interested in attending a Mims reunion. Why don't we plan it for Edgefield in the late fall or early spring. It is too hot there in the summer. There is a good little hometown restaurant on the square. I will be glad to arrange with the courthouse crew to have us a private tour and I'll bet the Tompkins library would do us a special tour of its holdings and let us use its meeting room. Don't ask me how many people it will hold but I can find out. I will do the courthouse and the library. Who will be my backup in case something happens to me?We could volunteer for each job in this way. Ann, thank you for all of your time. betty in ga
