    2. Hi Betty, Being a PI by trade and nosey by nature, I took the liberty of running a trace on Francis for you. Francis is deceased, but family members (one of whom is also named Francis Tracy) can be found at (1) PO Box 868, Carlsbad, NM 88221, (2) 2200 W. Pierce St, Carlsbad 88220, and (3) phone number 505-885-8316. As to where this bible is located: The family group sheet that I have is typewritten. It was sent to me from Barbara Stringer. This information was compiled by Ann Mellard. The citation reads: "Ref: BIBLE RECORD of Shadrach Mims, sent by Mrs. F. Tracy of Carlsbad, New Mexico". In a family group sheet about his son Shadrach the citation reads "Ref: Bible record of his father Shadrach Mims owned by Mrs. Francis Tracy, Carlsbad, NM". ... so I'm guessing that Mrs. Tracy has/had the bible. The family group sheets are dated 1977. Ann Mellard at the time lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Hope this helps. 2. Not sure if this is THOMAS NEWTON MIMS but there is a Thomas Mims on the 1900 Census who was born Aug 1869 in Texas and his parents were from Alabama. This Census is from Limestone County which is adjacent to McLennan County which is the county for Waco. This Thomas was married to Emma for 9 yrs. Their children listed on the census are: Lillie May (daughter), Affie (daughter), Terrell (son). The 1910 census has THOMAS N. MIMS in Scurry County, TX and has the same children listed with son in law Will Dryden and a grandchild Florsie(?). Also are new children Lena and Vera. The 1920 census has THOMAS N. MIMS in Wood County with the same children and a new one J.R. (3 yrs old). The 1930 Census has THOMAS N. MIMS in Scurry County at age 63. Son John R. Mims is now 14 yrs old. There are also grand children listed: Dorothy D.; J. Terrel; Billy Jean. Hope this helps. If this looks like who you are looking for e-mail me privately and I can get you more details. 2. Ann, I was curious about Zee Mims brother Thomas Mims because it was reported that he was the man that identified Jesse James when he was killed by Ford in 1882. He was born 11,27, 1846 married Mary Giberson. Also if you have any information about Zee's sister Nancy Catherine Mims and her husband Charles McBride. Thank you so much for this information. Did Nancy Catherine Mims, McBride live to an old age? Thanks so very much. I am still chasing Jesse James . Glynda Alston,Mims,Osteen Decendent

I am interested because I am related to Zeralda, and I should try to keep my files straight for her and her siblings, in case I can help others. If you are refering to another fella, just delete my email, and hopefully the other researcher will contact you back. 3. Merry Christmas Glynda, I have missed you! I have Thomas Martin Mims, s/o John Wilson Mims b. 1808 VA d. 1870 Kansas City, Missouri. Thomas was born 11-27-1846 Logan Co KY. His father came to Logan Co KY from VA when Thomas was a small child, along with his father Robert Mims of Goochland Co VA and his mother Lucy Poor. John Wilson Mims left Logan Co KY before the War Between the States, and settled in Missouri, he operated a boarding house at Harlem, Missouri. The family of Rev. Robert Sallee James, who were neighbors of the Mims family in Logan Co KY, also moved to Missouri in the same time frame. They settled at Kearney, Clay Co MO, and that is where Jesse Woodson James was born 9-5-1847, he died 4-3-1882 St. Joseph, MO and is buried on the James Farm in Kearney, MO. I do NOT have further info on Thomas Martin Mims, who was an older brother of Zeralda Amanda Mims, the wife of Jesse James. Did they settle in Missouri as well?? I would like to know. I do have a relative in Lima, OHIO named Thomas Giberson, and his sister was Etta Mae Giberson, and I do have their ancestry. Any chance of a connection? Those names are in the 1880 census at Lima, OH. Let me know if I can help at all. My grandfather descends from Drury Shadrach Woodson Mims, the paternal Uncle of Mrs. Jesse James. I don't know who the 18 year-old Nany Mimms would be. Nancy Catherine has correct info for parents (both from VA), but Thomas has wrong info -- looks like the transcriber copied that from the niece. But then, I don't guarantee that this is the correct Thomas Mims, either.
