I am mostly lurking and compiling a MIMS database, which I will turn into GEDcom in a while and let you all take a look. I have been *trying* to put as many of your names in family groups as possible and link them together. I belong to Ancestry.com and GenealogyLibrary.com, so have access to those databases. Also, I have been doing some back-tracking to add as many sources as I can find, so take the data at face value and try and get the proof yourselves, if necessary. This work all started because I am doing Jesse James research, which contains some MIMS. But all of you have been such a treat for me, as you are not only researchers, but also friends. I do enjoy this list like no other. I am not using all of this in my book, by no means, only the line of Jesse's wife, Zee, but wanted to give back for some of what I have gained here. I hope it can help some of you... To date there are roughly 2600 names in the database. (Please do not ask for lookups, I do not have the time and this is part of the reason I will send the GEDcom soon.) You will see that some of your names, email addresses, etc., are listed as sources, when that was all that was available, so you might contact eachother. If there are any objections to this work please contact me, if you wish not to be listed. God Bless, Linda in KCMO

I think that Charlie had a brother named Purdy (? spelling) and they were from Lake City, Williamsburg County, SC. I need to find out who the parents of Charlie and Emma were. I am having a bit of trouble tracing this line and would appreciate any help or suggestions anyone can give. I think most of the remaining children of Charlie and Emma are currently living in Georgia, maybe around Waycross, but there may still be relatives living in Alvin, SC or anywhere in the lowcountry of South Carolina as well. Please reply if you can help at all. I'm still trying to prove my g-grandfather, Frank Peyton Mims - b.1853/d.1906, was the son of William Peyton Mims and Sarah Victoria Brady. I can find William Peyton Mims in the 1840 & 1850 Sumter Co., GA, census and then he and Sarah turn up again in the 1880 Webster Co., GA, census in the household of Diamacia (?) W. Mims. Where is this family during 1860 & 1870?????? Frank Peyton Mims shows up as a 27 yr. old & head of his own family in the 1880 Lee Co., GA, census. I've spent MEGGA hours looking through census film. Those 2 "missing" census' would HELP greatly. Mary Clyde Wright - [email protected]

I am trying to prove that James Mims (1799SC-1868FL) m. Mary O'Steen, is the son of: Valentine Mims, s/o of Thomas & Grace (Britton) Mims. Anything on this Valentine will be greatly appreciated. It is thought he was b. VA, married in NC had son in SC, then "moved to FL". Mavis mailto:[email protected]
According to "The Allen Family" book by Wicker, (pub. Gateway) Mary Mimms dau. of Drury Mimms(Some Marriages of Burned Record Counties of Virginia, Va.Gen.Soc.) married Samuel Allen son of Samuel and Martha (Archer)Allen, they married Dec. 1, 1775 Buckingham Co. Va. Children by this marriage: Dau.? m. Mr. Penick Wm.M., m. Lucy Graves Nancy, m. Wm.Ballard Allen Drury M., m.Sally A.Wright & Martha W. Cabaniss Martha A., m. Richard Cottrell Samuel A.,m. Nancy Sally H., m. Henry Graves Sutton Farrar, m. Elizabeth Sims Allen Elizabeth Ann W., m. Thomas Slaughter John A., m. Caroline Clay Cabaniss .......Note: Samuel and Mary(Mimms)Allen moved to Madison Co. AL. but do not know exactly whate date. ....******** I am trying to find out which DRURY MIMMS was Mary Mimms father and who was her mother. She is my 4x greatgrand mother. There are so many Drury Mims(Mimms)no one seems to be able to tell me exactly. Most say Mary Mimms was married to a Woodson and she died without children, that apparently is another Mary Mims, there is little doubt that a Mary Mimms did marry Samuel Allen in 1775, so which Drury is her father and who is her mother???? And if someone knows, what is the source of the info.?? ....Thanks... Merrill Lane
