    3. HiO'Donna! How ironic. Most of my ancestors were from around the Barnwell, SC area--old Barnwell District--now present day Bamberg,SC. Bamberg is where i was born and raised. I recently moved to California. Anyway, my grandfather is John A. Mimms and his father was Miles Edward Mims. Miles' father was William McPherson Mims who married Mary M. Dubose. William McPherson mims' parents were Shadrach Mims, Jr and Elizabeth Dowsing. Shadrach Jr's parents were Shadrach Mims and Elizabeth Kirkham. Shadrach's parents were Robert mims and Sarah Pace. And Robert Mims' parents were LINAH MIMS and MARY ANNE MARTIN. I believe your Melly Anne Martin was a sister to my Mary Anne Martin. Is that correct? Now I have 2 Thomas Mims. The one Thomas Mims (no dates) was the son of my William McPherson Mims and Mary DuBose. The other was born about 1706 in VA and died on April 28, 1711 in VA and was the son of Linah Mims and Mary Anne Martin. I don't have his wife' s name. But my other notes Say that a Thomas Mims was married to Melly anne Martin as mentioned above. Can you tell me more? Thanks! Joy hughes [email protected] --- [email protected] wrote: > Hi, everyone! 3. Linda; thank you so much for the information on William Wright MIMS and his wife. Do you have documentation on this? William Riley MIMS is my great great grandfather. He married Martha Pharr/Farr 2nd in Wilcox Co. Al. and he died there after the Civil War. I have all his information and the family from William Riley Mims forward, but I have never been able to document William Mims the father and his wife. I do have William MIMMS age 46 in Baldwin Co GA in 1850 with wife, Mariah MIMMS age 47 and children William R. 17; Jefferson P. 20, and what appears to be D. C., age 5 or 8. 3. Up till now I have been mysterious, I guess, kinda busy to tell about me, so here goes, you asked for it. My *real* name is Linda Snyder, but I think I have confused everyone, with the Arianna name. It started off as a screen name on IRC chat, but I also use it as my *pen name* when I write. In reality I am a 52 year old mother of five, 4 are grown and flown the coop. Nine year old, Katie is still hanging around. I told her to get a job, but all she said was, "Oh, mom!" I have 4 grandchildren, but they live in California, where we are originally from, yeah I am one of those rare native born. I don't smoke or drink and am pretty [ ] square, and never do anything outrageous... Well, I did once. I was in a bad marriage and my husband *cough* was cheating on me, back in 1988. I got my first computer about that time, ha, a Commodore 64. Remember those? Anyway, I found a chat line, met my present hubby, who was living in Chicago and 6 weeks later, I was living in Illinois. We have been married almost eleven years now. This IS a good thing, contrary to most tv reports of online romance. :) Oh, did I mention he is 32? And that is a good thing too... Terry, the hubby guy, is going to College, getting a degree in computers (what else), and made the honor roll (beaming wife here). He is an electrician for Ford, such a busy man. So, Katie and I go to the mall and movies alot to keep eachother busy, when we are not online. In 1994 when in Ca I started writing a genealogy on Jesse James *for fun* and in 1994 moved to Mo to try and make a little *profit* of it, so I can do some intense research (money helps). I try and help as many people online as I have time for and is easier now that I have networked my 2 computers and laptop. This is the line I am adding to my book, no collateral lines, but am working on a GEDcom to distrubute to you all, since you have helped me so much and given me many interesting days of enjoyment. I listen to your laughter and share your tears, and for this I thankyou with all my heart. Thomas Mims/ Thomas Mims/Anne Thomas Mims/Amelia Ann Martin David Mims/Agnes Weldy Shadrach Drury Mims/Elisabeth Woodson Robert Mims/Lucy Poor John Wilson Mims/Mary James Zerelda Amanda Mims/Jesse Woodson James I am still Linda in KCMO ;)

    3. Did William Wright Mims and wife, Mary Matilda Riley get a divorce? I have the 1860 census showing: -1860 AL Wilcox county, East Division William Mims 56 m SC This is William Wright Mims Ann 18 f GA This is his daughter Anne William R. Mims 27 m GA This is his son William Riley Mims Georgian 3 f AL This is his granddaughter Georgia Ann I have that his wife died in 1903, but she is not listed here. I DO have that she married Angus Mc Kenzie in 1845 and they had a daughter Mary Duncan Mc Kenzie, who then marries Wright L. Mims in 1866. As stated William Riley is accounted for in the 1860 census, and his sister Ann. Missing are, of course the mother and siblings, Susan Jane (20), Wright Sylvester (14), Jefferson Benjamin (9) and Cynthia Matilda (2). This would make sense that Susan probably married, Anne stayed to care for her father, William Riley and his daughter were there, IF his wife died, AND if the missing persons were in the 1860 census, in the home of Angus Mc Kenzie. Does this make sense, or have I lost it? Linda in KCMO

    2. Can't seem to make any headway with my MIMS. I don't know much about them so far but here is what I have: Amanda M. Mims married Samuel Washington Glover. She was born ca 1828 and he ca 1812/13. The only children that I know of was three daughters: Mary, who married Thomas Myers, Sarah and Nancy M, who married Nathaniel Henthorn. I descend from Nancy Mims Glover who married Nathaniel Henthorn, through their son Samuel Glover Henthorne. 1880 Federal Census of Pulaski Co. Ark, Ellis Township. Samuel W. Glover age 67, born in IN. Amanda M. Glover, age 52, born GA. daughters: Nancy M. age 25, Sarah age 24, both born in Ark. I guess daughter Mary was already married by that time. My Nancy didn't marry until 1885, which would have made her "old maid" in those days! Unless she had a 1st marriage we don't know about. All Nancy's kids are by Henthorne. Nancy married my Henthorne in Saline Co. Ark. I do not know date or places of death for my Samuel W. & wife Amanda. Any info appreciated. Karen Ray
