    1. [MIMONROE] Re: St. Mary's Academy
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UGB.2ACI/1728.2.1 Message Board Post: Additional info: Not all the IHM burials are in St. Joseph's Cemetery, only the first oldest. The Sisters have their own, known as "St. Mary's Cemetery" not to be confused with the St. Mary's church. If you need a DOD, I can give that to you, or a name. Let me know. The markers within St. Joseph's Cemetery were removed several years ago and replaced by a large monument to the Sisters, with their names and DOD on it, which includes maiden names, which had not been previously noted on the markers. The Sisters were laid out in chronological order, with the most recent burials in St. Mary's Cemetery (IHM). Even though the Academy itself is not in existence (I am a Grad), some of the tradition (?) goes on in the form of St. Mary Catholic Central, a joining of the girl & boy schools. The IHM Sisters have kept the Academy info, though. Hope this helps.
