She would have entered the Order about 1841 and died in January of 1894 and I believe she is buried in Monroe but not sure just where, did the Sisters have their own cemetery? I do understand that St. Mary’s Academy is no longer in operation. However I would assume that the old records of St. Mary’s Academy are located some where, if anyone could get me an address or a phone number so I could do further checking it would be appreciated. (Betty) McDonald, 69, of Monroe died at 10:50 a.m. Monday in her home. She had been ill for three months. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Paul Richert will officiate. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and at 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony Sulkowski, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Born April 5, 1932, in Ida, she was the daughter of Lynford and Thelma (Trombley) Bell. She married Lyle W. McDonald July 14, 1951, at St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked for Consolidated Paper Co., and for Bazley's Farm Market, both former Monroe businesses. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1950. Surviving are her husband; her mother of Toledo; six sons, Gary L., Mike P., Mark D. and Eric J. (Lois), all of Monroe, Jim E. (Kim) of Little Rock, Ark., and John T. of Willis; two daughters, Kyle A. Oakley and Karen S. (Sidney) Sova, both of Monroe; a brother, Norman of Florida; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
