I am still around and I have pretty detailed information about the LaFeves. Eleanor Burbo LaFeve (16 May 1877 - 20 May 1922) had seventeen children. Four daughters are still living as far as I know. (One son was John Peter LaFeve, 27 May 1901 - Nov 1969) Her husband, Frank LaFeve (11 Jul 1871 - 23 Jan 1946), was the son of Peter LaFeve and Mary Senevar (Shenvare, Chinavare). Mary was one of the large number of folks who migrated from St. Jacques in Quebec to Monroe about 1850. Elnora LaFeve Charbonneau Upper Bosman, Peter and Eleanor LaFeve's 7th child, died in 2001. She was lucid to the end and I had many conversations with her. Peter LaFeve (Pierre LeFebvre) was married twice. Unfortunately, the record of his second marriage to Mary Senevar (29 Nov 1856) in St. Charles, Newport, does not list his parents. I have not located the record of his first marriage to Theotiste Campeau, so we do not have a record of Peter's parents. This Theotiste Campeau is believed to b! e the one on page 208 of Denissen's French Families of the Detroit River Region. One way or another I have found record of six children of Peter LaFeve and Theotiste Campeau. The parish register of Ste. Anne's in Detroit has three of them, one of whom was known to Elnora Bosman as Aunt Mary Daigle (she also had an Aunt Mary Lemerand, who was her father's full sister.). Elnora Bosman's Uncle Charles LaFeve (the LaFee name comes from this line) and Uncle John LaFeve, half-brothers of her father, Frank, were probably born downriver. Although I am not a direct descendant of Peter LaFeve, his descendants have married into the Venier and Burbo lines many times. I am interested in learning more about the LaFeves (LaFees) and would be pleased to share what information I have with others. In addition, I have traced the downriver Detroit Burbo (Bourbeau) line back to Pierre Bourbeau dit Lacourse in the 1600s. If Cliff Venier is around, maybe he will come to our rescue, his grandmother was Alvina Burbo, sister of Elnora.
