    3. We maintain the Michigan Marriage Index Database that has over 430,000 records of marriages that took place in Michigan. As part of our database we record the email address of researchers that have an interest in the various records. We have many records that have email address that are no long valid for one reason or another. One example is the shutting down of "@home.com". We have attempted to obtain accurate email address for those that are no longer valid, but, this has caused an expression of concern for many subscribers to the various mailing lists as they feel that we are overloading the system. We will no longer attempt to obtain correct email addresses. IF ANYONE HAS PROVIDED US WITH EMAIL ADDRESSES TO ATTACH TO THE MARRIAGE RECORDS AND HAVE CHANGED YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS PLEASE SEND US A MESSAGE THAT INCLUDES BOTH THE "OLD" AND "NEW" EMAIL ADDRESS. With several thousand email addresses in the database we cannot check everyones email so please only send us a message if you have had a change. Surnames: Bomier/Leech, Leach Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UGB.2ACI/1257.1274.1287.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi and thanks for the reply! I don't have much information as all I'm working with is memory; trying to remember things my mother, now deceased, said in passing. Unfortunately, I was raised in a different part of the country and have not seen any aunts, uncles or cousins in over 30 years. Here is what I know: Ida May Leech/Leach b. May 17 1902 d.Sep 29 1978 in Monroe under the last name Harvath ( 2nd marriage ) She may have had a sister Beulah and one named Vi. Mom mentioned that she had aunts by those names but I'm not sure if they were maternal or paternal. I do know that Ida May had a large number of siblings. I did check the 1920 Michigan census and found an Ida May Leach, age 17, born in Lenawee Co. Adrian Township. It sounds like a match except I believe I was told Ida May was born in either Newport or Old Port. Ida May married Arthur Sylvester Johnson b.April 19 1899, Indiana d. Dec 1966 in Michigan. Their children were Nora Elizabeth ( my mother ) b. March 11 1921, Monroe d. April 2 1993 Greeley Colorado. Arthur Sylvester Jr., Monroe Harriet ( adopted, but not certain it was legal or formal ) Evelyn I. b. January 8 1927 (?) Monroe La Donna or Donna, Monroe Ida May's father may have been Amos, but I'm not even sure where that name came from so I don't know how valuable that is. Mother's name may have been Alice or Josephine. I'm pretty sure of those names, though which is which I can't recall. I don't have a cemetary name for Ida May; all I have is a card from the ALLORE Funeral Home. The family tree that my aunt Evelyn constucted, I had only a brief glimpse of and that was about 15 years ago. I remember a Jean Baptiste Bomier ca. 16?? in Canada was the earliest entry. Somewhere in the line there was an Adrienne Barbeau that married a Bomier. I only remember that name because of the the actress by the same name. I wish I had more to go on, but I appreciate your offer of assistance. Thanks! Ida

I'll look in the obit file at the museum. The more names, dates and places, the more I can help. Have you checked over the border of Monroe Co into Wayne Co, Michigan and Toledo, Lucas Co, Ohio? Lenawee Co, MI is west of Monroe Co, too. Please send me a desc chart with the names and places that you know of, with approx/actual dates and I'll see what I can do. Include cemeteries and churches, if you have them.

Surnames: Bomier - Leech, Leach Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UGB.2ACI/1257.1274.1287 Message Board Post: This line looks very similar to a line my aunt traced a number of years ago. I don't remember a lot of details, but I do recall a Jean Baptiste Bomier located in Canada. This line descended to my grandmother, Ida May Leech b. May 17, 1902 Michigan and married to Arthur S. Johnson sometime before 1921. I believe she was born in or near Monroe and lived there her entire life. I'm having a difficult time linking the Bomier and Leech ( Leach ) lines. I don't know Ida May's parents names, although I'm thinking I remember my mother mentioning the name Josephine. If you have any info at all that you could pass along, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know where I may find any newspapers that were around during that time? Or, where I can write for his death certificate and record? He was my grandfather.

The film leaves a lot to be desired. Some of course is worse that others. So you are saying that you actually handled the actual records? I find that amazing. I am surprised that it would be allowed. It would be nice if someone would film them again, since they are of such historic to the Monroe, MI area.

I have viewed this same entry in the 1870 census images at Ancestry.com. This fits the time line which puts Antoine I born in 1823 to Antoine Louis Jacob 1784-c1879 and Mary Marthe Pouget b1786-c1827, and Antoine II b1855 to Antoine I d.1941 and Elizabeth Lucier bb 1824-27 d 1909. I am interested if you have access to the records at St. Joseph's or if you are viewing the microfilm at the library for those same records. I did look at a few of the records earlier this month but they are so fragile. I am interested to know if the records are available online or how readable the microfilm is. It does not seem the the original records could take extensive handling. Good searching, Marie Quirein
