Dan Pfankuch Funeral services for Dan Pfankuch, 74, 1617 15th Ave., Menominee, Mich., were held Saturday, Feb. 22 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Glenn Theoret officiated with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons. He died Wednesday, Feb. 19 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Born Oct. 19, 1928 in Menominee to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. (Margaret McGowan) Pfankuch, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1946, then from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1950. He married the former Beverly Neumann on Dec. 30, 1950 in Marinette. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the American Legion where he was a past commander, Menominee Ambassadors, North Shore Golf Course and the Menominee City Council where he served as an Alderman. He was also a member of the Rescue Squad Board of Directors. He owned and operated Pfankuch's Carpeting in Menominee, retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael (Marsha) Pfankuch of Menominee, Steven (Wendy Jo) Pfankuch of Neenah; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Linda) Reno of Menominee; one sister, Mrs. James (Maureen) Lauerman of Menominee; one brother, Robert (Bev) Pfankuch of Kimberling City, Mo.; and six grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established for the Rescue Squad. 2/26/2003
