I am looking for information about my great grandfather Michael Bernardy. He was born in Irsch, Germany in 1860. He apparently lived in Menominee for a period of time in the late 1880s and early 1890s. In 1889, he married Maggie Kullman (Kuhlman) in Manitowoc Rapids, WI, and the marriage certificate indicates that he lived in Menominee. My grandfather's (Charles) social security application indicates that he was born in Menominee in 1890, although neither Michigan nor Menominee County have found his birth certificate. Charles' brother John was also born in Menominee in 1891 and I have John's birth certificate verifying that. Apparently, Michael and Maggie and their two sons moved to Chicago in the summer of 1892, because they filed John's birth certificate in July and their son Michael was born in Chicago in October 1892. They remained in Chicago the rest of their lives. I would appreciate any information on Michael Bernardy or any other Bernardys in the Menominee area. Anna Marie Bernardy Schuh
