    3. Hey Colleen....What some people won't do to get a list into sunday morning coffee....I jest...Was MImeno there before? Anyway..... glad for the reply to change....since this will help the newbies a lot more than any tutorial.... Glad for the gateway because I do not ever use the message boards... They are the easiest to use for the newbies but I just do not have time to sit and scan for the notes to the boards...at least if they go to the list, we can glance and delete or even answer..... hope for a shorter prepend...MImeno is sufficient.... Glad for a shorter DIGEST because then we don't get responses so far in the past from readers who don't get to their digests fast enough...and the answer has hit the list too too too many times before they finally get their two cents in.... Would be glad for a map on the county site that would show the area of other counties that became part of Meno and which areas of Meno might have been given up to other counties....need this for census rolls.... Re how folks should go to the cemeteries... they ought to try MapQuest which on some results will actually have aerial views on a tab above the street map.... 'Course, MImeno being in the UP and not being very populated, maybe the satellites haven't taken any aerial views... darn.... Glad you are ...IN CONTROL...valentine ----- Original Message ----- From: Colleen Pustola Sent: Friday, August 09, 2002 5:19 PM To: MIMENOMI-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MIMENOMI] PLEASE READ: NEW LIST ADMINISTRATOR Hi everyone, This is just a quick message to let you know that effective yesterday, August 9th, I am the new list administrator. I'll let you all know my guidelines in the next day or two. I have also taken over the Menominee County GenWeb site. I have submitted to Rootsweb to move the site there, but am still waiting word from them. In the meantime, I am rebuilding the site and hope to have it ready in a couple days. In addition to the list and site, I'll also be taking over the Menominee County message board at Ancestry. I've noticed that there isn't a lot of traffic on this list. Would you all like me to keep the message board gateway open so you can still receive the messages coming from there? If a majority of you don't want the gateway left open, please let me know offlist and I'll request it to be closed. You should also know that I've made a few changes in the list controls. Beginning today... ... those of you receiving the digest will receive one every 12 hours or when the level of combined messages reaches 20,000 bytes. ... when you hit 'reply' now, your response will go BACK TO THE LIST, meaning everyone will see what you've written. If you want to make a private reply, be sure to check the 'To:' in your message form. You may have to type in the person's email address that you're directing your message to. The reason for this is two-fold: 1) hopefully this measure will generate more discussion here ~ it usually does. 2) a lot of good information gets passed privately that a majority of the people can benefit from. Being tucked away in the U.P., the Menominee site doesn't get as much traffic as a county in the middle of the U.S. does. However, that doesn't mean we have to be ghostly quiet! :) I'm an experienced list manager and Web mistress and have a couple ideas guaranteed to generate more traffic that will get your information and queries "out there." I plan to make us known to the Web! :) If you have any Menominee County information you'd like to share, please let me know at the email address below. You'll receive full credit for any material you submit, but please make sure that your data doesn't contain anything about living people. This is for the protection of your loved ones from identity theft. In the meantime, if you have any questions, you're welcome to contact me at <ladyaudris@earthlink.net>.
