He was born Emil Hansen Rygh in Nedre Eiker, Buskerud, Norway about 1866 and died 1938 in Menominee, MI. He was a pall bearer at the funeral of Adolph Evensen, Marinette, WI in 1934. Adolph was his mother's brother. Emil's parents were Hans Rasmussen Rygh and Anne Gurine Evensdatter. A brother Ingvald also came to the Marinette/Menominee area. It is believed that Ingvald never married.
