Can someone provide me with some direction? I received an email from a volunteer at the Shawano Co., WI Family History Center that suggested my grandparents may have been married in Menominee, MI. Where do I begin my search for their information? The names are Howard L. Emerson and Olga E. Paulson and the alleged date of marriage was November 18, 1918. Many thanks for any assistance. Actually, two different families shared that surname, with its varient spelling. One group is from Belgium while the other is French-Canadian in origin. I am connected to the French "batch." Your Biemeret surname listed at the top is also familiar. My grandfather's cousin married a Biemeret and I have some knowledge of their origins as well. I will share my data. Patricia

Try Delta COunty... they have a lot of records on line....you'll be able to find them with your search engine... Try also in Marquette COunty. The time that you are asking about was a big MINING time in Iron RIver, which then was in Marquette County, then Iron Cty. And you know that Powers has the rr too. All of these places are very easily accessible by CNWrr so you might just be looking a little to narrow.... Even tho State said they had nothing, check more local. When in Delta records, check regarding any CNWrr records and check the two big cem in Escanaba Lakeview - generally non-Catholic and St Joe/Holy Cross Catholic.... good luck... write to the list if you need more ----- Original Message ----- From: Claudia Sent: Saturday, February 16, 2002 5:15 PM To: MIMENOMI-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Hoyts The last year I found my grt grt grt grandfather, Harvey Hoyt, was in 1881 when he married for the 3rd time to Catharine Hill in Powers, Menominee co.
