Looking for a marriage record of John NAUMANN (1871-1947) and Anna STRAKA (1874-1956). It would have been about 1893. Their first two children were born in MI, I believe in Menominee County, in 1894 and 1896. By 1900 the family had relocated to Green Bay, WI. Thanks for any help, John Ottinger
If it has the burial date after the name, it is that persons name as appears on the gravestone. If the person has a birth and death date like the first one Flood, Antone C. (that is his birth and death date) And the woman after him is his wife. It doesn't show up so good in this list but the wife is indented. In this case it would be Patricia Vassaw. When there is a woman's name for instance, FLOOD, Ethel A. "Muriel", birth date, death date / JOHNSON. Johnson is her married name. Then you can look up Johnson and it give his information. In the case of your Christine Flood, that is a grave reading so it is her married name and the day she was buried. If there are any other names you would like me to look up, email me. A lot of these names are from obituaries from the paper. And the index is not complete, but I have it on my computer and try to add to it when I can. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. Okay, Here is my brick wall... I am still searching for a Herman Weisner family who lived in the Daggett, Michigan area at the turn of the century. Herman's wife Katherine (Hoffman) was the aunt to my great grandfather & his brother & sister. I am actually trying to trace Katherine's family line... because in doing so, this will give me my great grandpa's line in Germany. I've posted many queries looking for descendants of this family, but so far have had no luck. By the way, Herman & Katherine's two children's names were Mary & Theodore. Mary was born June 1891 & Theodore was born Nov. 1893. Joy from our Mimenomi list was such a life-saver for me. She did a lot searching through census records & helped me a lot. She told me that Katherine was alive for the 1900 census records, but by April 1910, when the next census was taken, she was dead. I'd like to find out if there is a death certificate and obituary for Katherine. This would hopefully give me Katherine's parent's names & other important details like where she was born. Katherine was the sister to my great grandpa's mom. Katherine was born Nov. 1852. Joy told me Herman Weisner is still around for the 1930 census records, so I'm not sure when his death occurred, but he was born in July of 1856, so I can't imagine he would have lived much longer than 1930 or 1940. If we could find an obituary for him, it should list their children & where they were living at the time of his death. I would really like to get in contact with this family because I have some unidentified pictures and I'm hoping they are of this Weisner family. If anyone sees this & has information about this family, please contact me. Many thanks everyone, Cammie Jordan Illinois > Nope... it isn't a roll call. Hello everyone, I definitely have a brick wall challenge in my genealogical life. He is my grandmother's brother Johan Alfred Nelson, nicknamed 'Fred' and he was born in Skaraborg Sweden 1862 and emigrated before 1894 to live in Menominee MI. He married 16 March 1894 in Menominee, Christina Carlson (whose father was Charles Johnson of Finland). My grandmother Anna (his sister) and grandfather and Ole Olsson Haglund were his witnesses. Fred and Christina had two sons - Walter and unknown. Fred abandoned this family and Christina married Mauritz or Maurice Flood in 1901 or 1902 and had two daughters and I believe their names were Ethel and Myrtle. Any information regarding this family would be greatly appreciated. Alice Colleen Pustola wrote: > Taking no chances, your challenge this month is your brick walls.
Hi everyone, I know... I know... you've waited since last year for this new challenge. Well, here it is... The beginning of a new year ~ the chance of a new beginning for our research. Has that new cousin joined us yet? Taking no chances, your challenge this month is your brick walls. Nope... it isn't a roll call. Please don't send in a Joe Doe and Mary Whoever marriage, thinking that's all we need to identify the couple. Tell us what you know; tell us what you've done. Our senior researchers just might have a hint or two that can help you. Please make it one brick wall to a message. It just makes life easier. Consider this is a brick wall conference! In the meantime, I'm going to start thinking about the Sunday Coffee, one which will be primarily directed to the newbies. Yes, for at least all of January, this list will be receiving the Coffee.
