RODGERS Oct.4, 1919-April 5,2002 Lynn F Rodgers, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2002, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Funeral services for Lynn will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Clark Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Obrecht of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow in Green Cemetery, Isabella Co., Michigan. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Chapel on Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disable American Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Lynn was born on Oct 4, 1919, in Sherman City, the son of Frank and Mary (Bywater) Rodgers. He served in the U. S. Army from 1940 to 1944. Lynn married Bonnie Lou Thayer on Oct 11, 1966, in Leaton. He worked as a truck driver for Blodgett Oil, Beard Oil and Allen Lumber Company. Lynn had also worked in the Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department through Green Thumb. On July 5, 1994, Lynn was attacked by the bear in Nelson Park, which he cared for. Lynn is survived his wife, Bonnie Lou Rodgers, his children, Jeffrey Rodgers of Cadillac, Janice Rodgers of Mt. Pleasant and Anissa Koch (Doug)of Midland; four grandchildren, Lynese Schaaf, Christy Roof, Amber Hammond and Jennifer Hammond; four great grandchildren, Jessica Schaaf, Charlotte Schaaf, Corina Roof and Gabriel Roof; and many nieces and nephews. Lynn was preceded in death by his son Ronnie Rodgers, and two sisters, Myra Morton(Berryhill) and Lois Jarrett. Additional Comments: Jeffery Rodgers died Oct 6, 2004 in Cadilac, Wexford Co., MI.
