I suspect that there are several on this list who have actually found the ports that their ancestors arrived in just prior to their arrival in Marquette.... I would think that if there were some comments made to the list regarding specific arrival dates AND specific ports, AND exactly where these records were found (film#, library, on-line link), that others on the list might have a direction to pursue... I am ONLY talking about those situations where Marquette appeared to be THE destination... it would be of little value, say, if someone arrived in 1840 to NYC, stayed there for 10 years and then journeyed to Marquette arriving in 1850... valentine
