Hello, Would someone please give me the contact information (mailing address/ tel.) for the office that would hold Declaration of Intent papers? I have a date and name so it should be a fairly straightforward request. Thanks, Chris Kale Corcoran
THE NATURALIZATION PAPERS ARE AT THE STATE LIBRARY OF MICHIGAN IN LANSING (AND IT THINK INDEXED LINE TOO) FOR YOU TO GET Aoops copy.. the declarations were allowed to remain in their original? locations. Sadly the early declarations were only lists of names in some counties, not at all like the very detailed declares of neighboring wisconsin counties. at least not in the early early days. ('cause, I think they were more interested in cuttin' and diggin' than writin'.) go to the state library of michigan page and explore.. it is not hidden too well. valentine ----- Original Message ----- From: "gypsy" <gypsy2@chartermi.net> To: <MIMARQUE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 9:06 AM Subject: [MIMARQUE] Naturalization Timeline > For what it is worth: > > I have never been able to locate naturalization records. Previously we had sent out this list in the same format that we have been sending it to the website coordinator and apparently it was confusing some readers. Aileen A very kind (anonymous) lister gave me the following website, which provides answers to any questions regarding BMD documentation in Marquette County. Mabel Francis MEWTEN (my great-grandmother) was born 6 Oct 1882 in Ishpeming, Marquette (from IGI). Her father was William John MEWTEN from Cornwall, England - he was living in Ishpeming at the time of the 1880 census, but was then unmarried. I am new to research in the USA, and would greatly appreciate the list's help. Can I order a birth certificate, and if so, how? What details would be given? How can I find her parents' marriage? What information would a certificate, if available, provide? I cannot get to an FHC (large amounts of sea between me and the nearest) so cannot take advantage of any facilities provided there. Anne
tho I write this.. p-l-e-a-s-e, if you are doing this search without the blessings of the çhild who now has two children of her own, and is an adult with a valid opinion, you will be OVERSTEPPING AND INTERFERRING..and it borders on invasion of privacy.. if you in fact do have the full blessings and even active support ~ go also here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html click on adoption and subscribe to lists that might be appropriate.. and post.. also go to google.com enter in "adoption registy" and register on several.. the google.com adoption +michigan and go thru them all... also check with the state to see if they have a confidential intermediary program which is existing for several states specifically for the medical purpose you cite. valentine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacqueline Pearce Downen" <jjd@uia.net> To: <MIMARQUE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 01, 2003 3:50 AM Subject: [MIMARQUE] Adoption > Hello, I am searching for the parents of a baby girl that was born in Marquette, Mi. Hi Sheila, if you search for "James Henry Roberts" in Rootsweb.com (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com) you will find some information at the end of the second page of the search on that person. You can then download the GEDCOM about the Roberts family published by Mandy Dailey. Send me a message to my email address (gomeztyler@aol.com) if you need any help. Francisco Gomez
