We have a Sokolowski who married a Wisniewski. The Wisniewskis' were in Manistee . Some came to Minnesota around 1905. The Sokolowskis' were originally from Vieana we were told. Maybe we can help each other in our search. Regards Sue W. Hi Sue, I posted this obituary to my list last week for Mary PASTALANIEC. I knew her, but was not related to her. Perhaps this will provide you with some fresh leads. Mary Skoloski of Republic, Pa., passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, in Brownsville General Hospital, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She was born in Republic, a daughter of the late Frank J. PASTALANIEC and Cecilia ZGTOBESKI Pastalaniec. Mary was a member of the Church of the Madonna of Cardale, and a retired teacher from Redstone and Brownsville Area School District. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of the Church of the Madonna Christian Mothers, the Rosary Society, DCCW, AARP, a life member of the Fayette County Public School Employees, Brownsville BPW, Republic American Legion Post 590, and a Charter member of the American Legion Post of Germany. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her busband, James SKOLOSKI in 1965; and a son, Joseph SKOLOSKI. Surviving are a sister, Irene Ferchak of Beallsville, Md.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received in the Robert T. Kish Funeral Home, Inc., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., in the Church of The Madonna, with the Rev. Fr. J Stephen Bugay as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, where Military Services will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103. A Parish Wake Service will be held. Not related to me, but was an old friend, and former school teacher. I'm not certain, but I seem to recall that she had some grandchildren in the Fairmont, WVa. area.
